Popsicles and the sun. There’s barely nothing left when summer is over. Nothing but the core of my strongest memories. Some brighter than other. But I can still taste the sweetness of the summer. Everything tastes sweeter when it’s summer.

When the ghosts of our past relationships raise their heads, we can decide if we remember the diamonds or the rust – the good or bad. After all, the poetry we tell ourselves will cover all that had happened. It looks like there are more diamonds than I remembered. Or maybe I’m just too nostalgic.
